Description
The Procurement Services Staff will be issuing a solicitation on behalf of the Civil Division for mail messenger services. Services covered by the solicitation will include: 1)sorting of mail delivered from the Department of Justice mailroom and from the U.S. Postal Service; 2)regularly-scheduled mail and messenger deliveries within the Washington Metropolitan Area and to Baltimore, Maryland; 3)special messenger service, as needed, to pickup and/or deliver time-sensitive documents in the Washington Metropolitan Area; 4)on-site messenger service for the Office of the Assistant Attorney General, Civil Division; 5)backup support for selected Government mail messengers when they are absent; 6)operation of a central mail room and four (4) satellite mail rooms; and 7)monitoring of a facsimile machine located in the Division's central mail facility and prompt delivery of incoming transmissions. The successful offeror will be required to provide all personnel and supervision to perform all functions under a single contract. The contract term will be for a base year with the Government having the option to extend the term for five (5) additional one-year periods (total contract term of 72 months). All contractor employees working under the contract will have to satisfy the DOJ contractor security requirements, which at a minimum will include a favorable National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI) check, a favorable credit check, and provision of fingerprints. This is a Total Small Business Set Aside. The RFP will be available around late-February and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administrations FedBizOpps (FPO) site at www.fedbizopps.gov (hard copies of the RFP will not be available). The FPO site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including RFP amendments, will also be distributed solely through the FPO site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FPO site to assure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
