Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Scott Specialty Gases for the rental of Scott Specialty Gases provided compressed gas cylinders for the period of dated of award through September 30, 2003. ***Sole source determination is based on gases being purchased, under a separate purchase order, from Scott Specialty Gases. Gases are delivered in Scott Specialty Gases owned cylinders and NIST is required to pay rental charges on these cylinders until the cylinders are returned. As all cylinders are owned by Scott Specialty Gases, Scott Specialty Gases is the sole source for this requirement.***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 325120, and the size standard is 500 employees.***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by January 03, 2003 .A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
