NA PROPOSED FEDERAL BUSINESS OPPURTUNITY (FEDBUSOP) ANNOUNCEMENT Sources Sought - The Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) and the Product Manager for Target Identification and Meteorological Sensors (PM TIMS) are seeking sources for a Surface Meteorological Station (SMS) that measures meteorological condition s near its location and transmits this data digitally via a serial data link AND displays it on a liquid crystal display. The SMS must provide real-time measurements of wind speed and direction, temperature, pressure and relative humidity. An integrated el ectronic compass automatically references wind direction to true north. Accuracy requirements are set below. Accuracy (RMS) Temperature Range -40? to +60?C Accuracy ?0.5?C Pressure Range 600mb to 1060mb Accuracy ?1.0mb Humidity Range 0 to 100% RH Accuracy ?5%RH Wind Speed Range 0 to 77 knots Accuracy ?1 kts (less than 10 kts) ? 10% of wind speed in knots ( greater than 40 kts) Wind Direction Range 0 to 360? Accuracy ?2? (less than 40 kts) // ?4? (greater than 40 kts) Interface- Must be capable of interfacing with the Meteorological Measuring Set (MMS) and the Meteorological Measuring Set-Profiler (MMS-P). This is a sources sought requesting information only. No solicitation will be issued against this notice. Solicitation Number DAAB07-03-R-P011 has been assigned for internal tracking purposes only. Offerors are invited to provide comments on the above req uirements in order to make those requirements more cost effective. This sources sought is also issued IAW the requirements of FAR Part 10 to determine the applicability of FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items.
