Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with EXFO America, Incorporated of Richardson, Texas for one (1) each Laser Wavelength Meter, GPIB interface for Laser Wavelength Meter, IR Photodetector, and one (1) each Beamsplitter. ***Sole Source determination is based on the need for this Laser Wavelength Meter and accessories to have complete optical, electrical, and software compatibility with NIST's existing EXFO/Burleigh model purchased previously from EXFO. EXFO America, Incorporated is the only known vendor who can provide a laser wavelength meter that is completely compatible with the Burleigh Model. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 120 days after receipt of order. ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 employees. ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by January 17, 2003. A determination by the government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
