- The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to purchase on a sole source basis from Instron Corp., 100 Royall St., Canton, MA 02021 the following items: 0001, Upgrade of Instron Model 1122 to 5500 controller via Instron Series 5500 update package, qty (1). Item 0002: Model #2710-001 22 lb grips, qty (1), Item 0003: Model #2710-002-200 lb grips, qty (1). Award will be on sole source bases to Instron Corp. as they are the original manufacturer of. machine and offers an upgrade package which will make the unit's electronics systems equivalent to those in their newest test machines. All other timely offers will be considered. Offers for other products must contain complete product information and prices. The NAICS code is 334519, size standard is 500 employees. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2000-7. FAR 523.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items applies. Evaluation factors are technical capability of the item offered to meet the Government requirement and price. Technical capability is slightly more important than price. The solicitation is expected to be available on our website by Jan 07, 2003. Delivery will be FOB Destination, Newport, Rhode Island and within 4-6 weeks after award.
