Description
07 Jan 2003 - Solicitation is being amended to extend the closing date for receipt of offers to 15 January 2003. Additional changes as follows: Requirement for a Product Sample has been deleted. Contractors are to submit technical drawings adequate for evaluation with their proposals. A First Article Testing Requirement has been added. Contractor receiving the award will be required to submit 1 each for First Article testing and acceptance before production of the remaining balance. Additional clarifications to the purchase description are as follows: There is no special requirement for the adhesive to adhere the rubber pad to the aluminum plate. The plate will be compressed under 60,000 lbs, and must remain bonded under repetitive loadings. The rubber pad shall be made from a flat rubber pad with a smooth surface and uniform 3/4-inch thickness. The durometer of the rubber pad should be 40 to 70 Shore A rating. There are no chemical property requirements. The rubber pad is used to duplicate the footprint of aircraft tires on AC30-60 Platform Scales. The hinged handles would be located on top of the plate at both ends. The hinges shall be spring loaded, and lay flat when not in use. The handles shall hang over the ends when lying flat. The handles shall allow enough room for easily inserting fingers for lifting. A photocopy of the AC30-60 Platform Scale is available; contact the contract specialist to request a copy.
