Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) on or about approximately 30 January 2003. Reference SOLICITATION NUMBER N68335-03-R-0039. The solicitation will appear on NAVAIR HOME PAGE www.navair.navy.mil/doing_business/open_solicitations/ . The requirement is for a Rotary Retraction Engine, Part Number 612733-7. Quantity of 4. No options. Technical Data is also required. The specifications, for the Rotary Retraction Engine is subject to Export Control regulations and will only be released to firms who are certified with the DLSC for receipt of military critical technical data. It is requested that all interested parties submit a current completed and certified DD Form 2345 (Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement) to NAWCADLKE Contracting Office. Configuration Management per MIL-STD 973 is required. Higher Level Contract Quality Requirements. Special testing required. Inspection and Acceptance at source. Transportation Evaluation. Final destination is Lakehurst, NJ. Delivery due 18 months after date of award. The Rotary Retraction Engine is a hydraulic system designed to retract or return those components used in the Nose Gear Launch system to launch aircraft, utilizing the steam catapults as a power source. The Retraction engine assembly provides the means of returning the launching pistons and shuttle to battery position after reach launch. This is a complicated system for manufacture with heavy weldments, extensive machining, plating operations with radiographic and other stringent inspection criteria. This solicitation is a 100% small business set aside. Contractors must be CCR registered. The Government anticipates the award of a Firm Fixed Price type contract using the best value method of evaluation. The drawing package will be available after the solicitation is posted on the web.
