Description

SYNOPSIS: The work includes furnishing all labor, tools, equipment and materials to install new and reseal existing insulation above drop ceiling at US Coast Guard Communications Station New Orleans. The scope of work for this project includes: a. Provide proper support for existing insulation hanging from the underside of the roof trusses to seal the space above the existing drop ceiling. b.Retape insulation seams on Front side of transmitter and control rooms. c.Provide two (2) 150 cfm circulating fans with humidity controls and two (2) natural vents to the air-conditioned space below. Fans shall pull air from space above ceiling into transmitter room. Fans shall be positioned near existing air returns as directed by COTR. d.Install approximately 700 square feet of wall insulation above the drop ceiling with appropriate supports. Insulation shall have an R-value of at least 12. e.Remove and replace approximately 10 square feet of ceiling insulation. Replacement shall be of same or greater R-value than existing (estimated at R-19). Contractor shall be working around and above energized communications equipment, and shall observe all safety regulations regarding work around them. There are multiple cable runs through the overhead space that the contractor will be required to work around. The performance period is thirty (30) calendar days from notice to proceed. The estimated price range is less than $25,000. Award will be made to the lowest responsible quoter. The anticipated award date is January 30, 2003. This solicitation is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. Emerging Small Business Reserve. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 235420, with a size standard of $12 million. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by this agency. No telephone requests for this solicitation will be accepted.
