Description
Contractor shall clean food service exhaust ducts fans IAW para 5. Complete and in strict accordance with this statement of work. The work covered consists of funishing all labor, material, equipment,appliance, transportation supervision and performing all necessary operations. Service shall be in accordance with the following: The contractor will not be required to work on more than one system at a time. Where there is more than one system in the building. The contractor shall complete all work required on one system before starting the next. 2. Services: The following services shall be performed to comply with specified standards: a. Exhaust Ducts: The contractor shall remove accumulation of all foreign material, such as dirt and grease from the exhaust ducts beginning at the hood connection and extending to and including the exit stack. Where ducts are joined in sections, they may be removed, cleaned, and reinstalled so joints are opposite to the direction of air flow, using sheet metal screws and new clips. Ducts interiors and exteriors shall be cleaned with degreasing compound " Harco-Jold 45" or approved equal. Ducts shall be cleaned to bare metal. b. Exhaust Fan: The contractor shall remove accumulation of all foreign material. such as dirt and grease by dismantling the fan and cleaning with a degreasing compound. 'Harco-Jold 45' or approved equal of other approved methods. Fans shall be reassembled and reinstalled in a satisfactory working condition. c. Steam Cleaning: In lieu of the method described in para 2a & b above, the contractor may, at his option, use a steam cleaning process to clean the ducts and fans. Such a process will include the spraying of steam mixed with degreasing agent into the hood and ducts until no grease or residue remains. When cleaning from roof down through the ducts, plastic film shall be spread directly under the hood to prevent steam from coming into contact with people working below. Precautions shall be taken to avoid setting off the extinguishing system. If a system is dismantled during cleaning, it shall include removal of the existing saponifying powder. All condensed steam, grease, and dirt shall be collected and disposed of by the contractor. Place of Contract Performance. Hill AFB, UTTR and Little Mountain
