Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has a requirement for the installation of a knuckle boom crane on the aft working deck of the NOAA Ship Nancy Foster. The government will provide the Knuckle boom crane (Goodcrane, Model No. 40KSC10000) with hydraulic power unit and controls. Contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, tools, staging, ship facilities, crane service, transportation, required to accomplish work. All welding and installation applications shall be in accordance with applicable ABS/USCG rules and regulations. All welders are to be ABS certified welders. Work shall be performed at Pier "Papa" at the former Charleston Naval Station, on Hobson Avenue, Charleston, SC. The is the Coast Guard Pier, located near NOAA's Pier "Romeo". The period of performance is Feb. 28, 2003 to March 21, 2003. Descriptive Data of the NOAA Ship Nancy Foster - Length Overall: 186 feet-0 inches, Beam (Moulded): 40 feet-0 inches, Draft (Navigational): 11 feet-0 inches and Displacement (FL): 1168 LT. This is a small business set aside. All responsible small businesses can provide a quotation. THE REQUEST FOR QUOTATION WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOADING APPROXIMATELY JANUARY 28, 2003 WITH A DUE DATE OF FEBRUARY 21, 2003. A prebid inspection will be held on February 17, 2003 in Charleston, SC at the address shown above. Appointments and arrangements for inspections can be made by contacting the COTR at 843-566-9191.
