- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to purchase Laboratory Equipment and Supplies from Applied Biosystems, 850 Lincoln Center Drive, Foster City, CA 94404. The items are as follows: 4316357, 3100 Performance Optimized Polymer 6; 4315930, 50CM 3100 Capillary Array; 4315933, 96 Well Plate Septa; 4390244, Big Dye Terminator V 3.0 Cycle Sequencing Ready Reaction; 403045, Dye Terminator Cycle Sequencing Ready Reaction (1000RXN); N8010560, Microamp Optical 96 Well Reaction Plate. These items must be compatible with existing Applied Biosystems equipment. The Government intends to evaluate offers and award a contract without discussions with Offerors providing the requested product. Therefore, the initial offer should contain the offerors best terms from a technical and price standpoint. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 423490 and the Size Standard is 500 employees for this requirement. This requirement is not a small business set-aside. Instead vendors capable of furnishing the Government with the products in this synopsis should submit two (2) copies of a quotation to the below address. The quotation shall include the itemized price, prompt payment terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), TaxpayerIdentification Number (TIN), Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNS), and descriptive literature of the product quoted. The quotation must reference Requisition Number 3009RU03. Quotations will be due fifteen (15) calendar days from the publication date of this synopsis or 1-30-2003, by 8:30 am local time, whichever is later. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. Quotations must be submitted in writing to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2920 Brandywine Road, Atlanta, GA 30341, Attention: Tommy Dorsey. Email quotations will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative to: tjd6@cdc.gov. Applied Biosystems, is the only source known to the Government that can provide th eabove items. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirements, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The capability statement and any other furnished information must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow CDC to determine if the party can fully meet the above requirements herein. This action is pursuant to USC 253(1) and under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The requirement will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with FAR Part 12.102, under the test program. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. THIS IS A COMBINED SUYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTES ARE BEING REQESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The following provisions apply to this acquisition; 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items (MAR 2000) applies to this acquisition; 52.212-2, Evaluation - Commercial Items (JAN 1999); the evaluation criteria ststed in paragraph (a) of this provision are as follows: (1) technical capability of the proposed system to meet the requirements stated herein, and (2) price. The clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms & Conditions - Commercial Items (MAY 1999) applies to this acquisition. The following FAR Clauses are hereby added to this acquisition: 52.247-35, F.O.B. Destination; The clause at 52.212-5 - Contract Terms and Condidtions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders - Commercial Items , applies to this acquisition. The following clauses listed in paragraph (b) of 52.212-5 apply to this acquisition: (1), (3), (5), (7), (9), (110, (120, (14), (15), (17), (18) (20) and (240). OFFERORS SHALL INCLUDE A COMPLETED COPY OF THE PROVISION AT 52.212-3, OFFERORS REPRESENTATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS ? COMMERCIAL ITEMS, WITH YOUR QUOTE.
