Description
The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences intends to contract on a sole-source, non-personal service basis for consulting services in the University's Graduate School of Nursing. The period of service will be February 5, 2003 through December 19, 2003. The Contractor shall act as co-course director for Pathophysiology and the assistant instructor to the course director for Anatomy and Cell Biology, Neuroscience I and II courses. Contractor will also make himself available to the course director for the Health Assessment course to provide instructor services as required. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Contractor performing the instruction shall posses an M.D. degree and practical experience in instructing medical or graduate level students in Anatomy and Cell Biology, Neuroscience I & II, Pathophysiology, and Health Assessment. Contractor must have a history of assisting and delivering courses and integrating basic sciences information as it relates to the clinical setting. Contractor must have demonstrated the expertise and ability to communicate the required course material in an effective and efficient manner. Contractor must have demonstrated expertise and the ability to contribute to department and faculty programs. Contractor performing the duties described above shall submit a copy of his/her resume detailing his/her qualifications. CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS:1.Delivery of up to one thousand and one hundred and fifty-four(1,154) hours of instructions in Pathophysiology, Neuroscience I &II, Anatomy/Cell Biology and Health Assessment to Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Anesthesia students in USUHS Graduate School of Nursing (GSN). 2. Serve as co-course director and assistant to the course director(s) in coordinating and preparing instructional materials, delivering lectures, preparing and administering exams and quizzes and provide student counseling and remediation. Assist with teaching anatomy lab, participate in preplanning meeting; organize schedules and course syllabi, and procure and coordinate guest lecture speakers. 3.Contractor will perform tasks as defined by department chair. 4.Contractor will assist course director(s) in overall planning of the courses mentioned above. GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENT: The government will provide the lecture room and teaching laboratory needed to support the delivery of the course of instruction.
