Description
NA Contractor shall provide all plant, labor, equipment, materials, and transportation to construct Project Numbers CRWU88-2033, Maintain Airfield Pavements, Runway; CRWU 01-2006, Repair Taxiway F Pavements; CRWU 01-2007, Repair West Apron Ramp; CRWU 01-2008, Repair Taxiway B,C,G, W, X, & Y Pavements; CRWU 98-2068, Repair East Apron Ramp at Buckley Air Force Base, Aurora, Colorado. Project shall consist of providing approximately 281,450 SY of asphaltic concrete pavement and 19,900 SY of PCC pavements; repair approximately 16,050 SF of PCC pavement; and approximately 283,000 LF of joint resealing. Site work shall consist of mill and overlay asphalt runway, taxiway, overruns, and apron; provide new PCC pavement and repair activities; repair spalls, cracks, and joint sealant at various project locations; perform runway arrestor system (BAK-12) upgrades and support activities; expand North overrun pavement, install new SALS base cans and duct banks; and provide runway, taxiway, overruns, and apron markings. This contract will close the runway at Buckley for a period of not to exceed 90 days. Work to be accomplished on the runway and within 125 feet of the runway on taxiways will be completed within this 90 day window or heavy liquidated damages will be assessed on the contractor. This construction contract will consist of a base bid plus multiple bid additives, which may or may not be awarded depending on funds availability. The estimated bid opening date is 21 March 2003. The estimated construction period is 2 27 calendar days with an estimated construction completion of 8 December 2003. Estimated cost of construction is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Based on this solicitation, a firm-fixed price contract will be awarded. The contract solicitation will be available approximately 13 February 2003. The solicitation package will be limited to one set per bidder and will be issued on a first come, first served basis. Copies of the solicitation will be distributed to various Plans Rooms throughout Colorado. Bid documents for the Maintain Airfield Pavements project will be available on the Internet at http://www.nationalguardcontracting.org/Ebs/AdvertisedSolicitations.asp. The site visit date will be identified in the solicitation package. Place of perfo rmance is Buckley Air Force Base, Aurora, Colorado. 2. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED: however, small businesses, veteran-owned businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned businesses, HUBZONE Small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses are encouraged to participate. A subcontracting plan will be requ ired if the bidder is a large business.
