Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to procure Technical Services for the design and construction of plasmids, transfection of normal and mutant cultured cells and analysis of cellular lesions in living cells with con-focal light microscopy and analysis of proteins in cellular compartments with immunogold electron microscopy. The Laboratory of Cell Biochemistry and Biology is investigating the phenotypic cells lesions in inherited metabolic diseases that effect lysosomal storage. Studies on living cells indicate a previously unidentified lesion common to many of these diseases. In order to gain more information on this new cellular lesion studies using resolution capability of electron microscope are necessary. This work will be labor-intensive and involves expertise not only in molecular biology but immunogold labeling, cryosectioning, knowledge of numerous lipid maintaining preparation techniques and experience with con-focal and electron microscopy. This contract is for a Base Year with One option year. All responsible small business sources and 8(a) sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be within the Simplified Acquisition Threshold for Purchases up to $100,000. It is the intent of NIDDK to procure Technical Services specified in the Statement of Work. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-03-877 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of the quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is February 18, 2003. Request for copies must be in writing and may be FAXED to 301-480-4226.
