- Description
- The work consists of the modification of approximately 1,900 feet of Little Whitestick Channel, which is located in proximity to the City of Beckley in Raleigh County, West Virginia. The work consists of widening, deepening, and stabilizing the existing channel and constructing new drainage facilities under three roadways that cross the channel. The excavated depth of the constructed channel will vary from about 6 feet to 12 feet. The channel will be trapezoidal in shape and in general have 2:1 sideslopes and bottom widths that vary from 9 feet to 24 feet. A 30-inch thick blanket of rock riprap will be installed to stabilize the sides and bottom. A grouted rock riprap grade control structure will be installed at the upstream end of the project just above the Route 16 bridge. The work will also include the stabilization of side drainage with rock riprap or pipe. Disturbed areas along the sides of the completed channel will be graded and seeded with grass. The Invitation for Bid Package (IFB) will be posted on the FEDBIZOPPS web site on January 29, 2003. Interested offerors may register at http://www.fedbizopps.gov to receive notification when the solicitation and any amendments are issued and available for downloading. Please note that the General Services Administration provides the notification service as a convenience and does not guarantee that notifications will be received by all persons on the mailing list. Therefore, we recommend that you monitor the FedBizOpps site for all information relevant to desired acquisitions. A job-site showing is scheduled for February 13, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service, Beckley Service Center, 465 Ragland Road, Beckley, West Virginia. All bids are due by 1:00 p.m., March 6, 2003 at the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service, 75 High Street, Room 301, Morgantown, WV 26505. The estimated price range is $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. Performance time is 404 Calendar Days.
