- Description
- The United States Coast Guard, Maintenance and Logistic Command, Pacific, Alameda, CA, proposes to contract the drydock and repairs of USCGC HAMILTON (WHEC 715), a 378? high endurance cutter, homeported in San Diego, CA. All work shall be at the contractor?s facility during the period of 21 May 2003 through 15 July 2003. Work items to include: production control, Gantt Bar Chart provide, sea trials, appendages (U/W) leak test, appendages (underwater) preserve, internal, chain locker clean and inspect , hull plating underwater body inspect, hull plating, underwater body ultrasonic testing, voids (non-accessible) preserve, internal, voids (non-accessible) leak test, voids (accessible) clean and inspect, stern light foundation, propulsion shaft coating renewal, propulsion shaft fairwaters and rope guards inspect and repair, propulsion seals mechanical overhaul & inflatable renewal, propulsion shafting removal inspection and maintenance, propulsion shaft external bearings check clearances, controllable pitch propeller hub seals & o-rings renewal/replace, controllable pitch propeller system general maintenance, propeller clean and inspect, miscellaneous valve manifold overhauls, fathometer transducers general maintenance, sea strainers (all sizes) overhaul, sea valve (<= 2.5 inches) renewal, sea valve (>2.5 inches) overhaul, temporary services, drydock provide, drydock, etc.. On or about 15 days from issuance of this notice, a Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued, in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Offerors are advised that the solicitation, specification and other notifications can also be accessed on the web at: www.eps.gov. All responsive sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by this agency. For Women-Owned and Disadvantage Business Enterprises, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantage Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
