Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service manages the federal Wetlands Reserve Program that purchases easements and provides cost-share assistance to private landowners for the purpose of restoring, enhancing, and protecting wetlands. The Ohio office of USDA-NRCS intends to select several individuals and/or firms to provide technical assistance to private landowners for wetland restoration planning and design work. This includes professional engineering, resource management system planning, and wetland and upland wildlife habitat planning services. Solicitation for assistance will be announced for the five administrative areas of NRCS in Ohio. Any firm or individuals that believe they can furnish the desired technical assistance are encouraged to give written notice to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability of the firm to provide engineering, biological, and/or conservation planning assistance. Selected applicants must provide proof of licensing, certification, and bonding for the contracted activities. If an individual or firm wishes to provide this assistance, but holds no certification for Resousrce Management System conservation planning, they are encouraged to state this request in their response to this solicitation. This is a Sources Sought Notice. Separate "Request for Proposal" will be advertised for each of the five NRCS administrative areas in Ohio after March 1, 2003.
