Description: This notice advises all persons and entities interested in the above-referenced prospectus that the National Park Service is canceling the prospectus pursuant to 36 C.F.R. 51.11. The regulation provides, in pertinent part, that the "Director may cancel a solicitation at any time prior to award of the concession contract if the Director determines in his discretion that this action is appropriate in the public interest." This notice is effective immediately. The Director has determined that it is necessary to review the prospectus and the new concession contract to consider safety issues related to park concession tour boat operations. The National Park Service will issue a new or amended prospectus as soon as practicable. The public will be notified of its issuance at the appropriate time. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (15-JAN-2003). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 16-JAN-2003.
