Description

LAKE COUNTY, INDIANA This project consists of replacing and extending an existing 6' fire suppression main with a new 12" main. The existing valve box will also be upgraded and a fire hydrant will be replaced. Pipe shall be installed by horizontal directional drilling. All work is located at the Paul H. Douglas Environmental Education Center, within the boundaries of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, Lake County, Indiana. Work shall include but is not limited to: horizontal directional drilling of approximately 370 feet of 12" polyethylene SDR9 pipe and two 6" tie-in stubs, upgrading fittings in an existing concrete valve box, placement of a new dry barrel fire hydrant and it's apputenances, and removal and salvage of an existing fire hydrant and timber retaining wall. Additional work may include horizontal directional drilling of approximately 405 feet of 8" polyethylene SDR9 pipe and placement of a new dry barrel fire hydrant and it's apputenances. Magnitude of project: between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Solicitation issue date on or around February 13, 2003.
