Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with National Instruments in Austin, TX for the purchase of components for the existing National Instruments Data Acquisition System to include: (4) four SCXI-1360 front filler panels, National Instruments #776576-60; (4) four SCXI-1361 rear filler panels, National Instruments #776576-61; (5) five SCXI-1102B 32-channel amplifier, 200 Hz bandwidth, National Instruments #776572-02B; (5) five TC-2095 32-channel thermocouple connectors, National Instruments #777509-01; (5) five SH96-96 shielded cables, 1m, National Instruments 183228-01; (1) one PXI-PCI8335, MXI-3 PCI to compact PCI kit, fiber optic cables, 30 m, National Instruments #777943-01; (4) four PXI-8335, MXI-3 interface with connectors for fiber cable, National Instruments #777947-01; (3) three NI PXI-6052E and NI-DAQ for Win 2000/NT/Me/9x, National Instruments #777962-01; NI PXI-6704 DC analog output bd and NI-DAQ for Win 2000/NT/9x/MAC, National Instruments #777796-01; (3) three PXI-1002, 4 slot chassis, universal AC power supply, National Instruments #778114-01; (3) three Kit, rack mount, PXI-1002, National Instruments #778152-01; (3) three AC power cord, 2.29 m, U.S. 120 VAC, Japan 100 VAC, National Instruments #763000-01; (2) two MXI-3 fiber optic cable, 30 m, National Instruments #763427-30; (3) three, SCXI-1000 4-slot chassis, U.S. 120 VAC, National Instruments #776570-01; (3) three SCSI-1371 rack mount kit for the SCXI-1000 4-slot chassis, National Instruments #776577-71 and (3) three SCXI-1349 shielded cable, 1 m, National Instruments #776574-491. ***Sole source determination is based on National Instruments being the only known supplier who can provide these upgrade components and guarantee 100% compatibility and interchangeability with NIST's existing DAQ System. The existing system consists of the following National Instruments equipment: (1) one Labview 6.1 full development system for Windows 95/98/NT/2000 for running data acquisition system, National Instruments #776670-00; (1) one PCI 6052E, 16-channel data acquisition board for PCI bus computer interface; National Instruments #777745-01; (1) one SCXI 1001 chassis box, National Instruments #776571-01; (6) six SCXI 1102B signal conditioner and multiplexer, National Instruments #776572-02B; (1) one SCXI 1104C signal conditioner and multiplexer, National Instruments #776572-04C; (1) one NI 6704 analog source board for PCI computer bus interface, National Instruments #777306-01; (1) one BNC 2090 shielded rack mountable terminal block adapter, National Instruments #777270-01; (11) eleven TC 2095 shielded, rack-mountable thermocouple terminal blocks, National Instruments 777509-01; (3) three BNC 2095 terminal blocks, National Instruments #777508-01; (1) one SCB-68 shielded terminal block, National Instruments 776844-01; (10) ten SH 96-96 96 pin 1 m shielded cables, National Instruments #183228-01; (1) one SCXI 1349 2 m cable assembly, National Instruments 776574-492; (1) one SH68-68-D1 68 pin 2 meter shielded cable, National Instruments #183432-02; (1) one SCXI 1180 feed through panel, National Instruments #776572-80; (1) one 100-2X50POS cable assembly, National Instruments #181304-10; (1) one SCXI 1370 rack mounting kit, National Instruments #776577-70; one (1) 68F-50M adapter, National Instruments #183139-01; (5) five SCXI 1360 front filler panels, National Instruments #776576-60 and (5) five SCXI 1361 rear filler panels, National Instruments #776576-61. The purchase of these components from National Instruments will expand the current systems capacities as well as the physical distance that it will cover in the laboratory. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 90 days after receipt of order. ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334414, and the size standard is 500 employees. ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by February 03, 2003. ***A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
