- Description
- The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to negotiate a sole source, purchase order with Cyterra, Florida for the purpose of procurement and installation of SIMS test mine lanes, and the training of Marines in the use of SIMs and Cyterra?s Handheld Stand-off Mine Detection System (HSTAMIDS). The installation and training, conducted at the Marine Corps Engineer School, Camp Lejeune, NC, will focus on the following areas: installation of a 25-meter mine training grid, including varying types of simulant mines in both a sterile and operational environment. Training is necessary to establish proper sweep pattern and rates for the Marine operator, which is unique to the HSTAMIDS detector, and is necessary to determine whether or not the equipment meets specific Marine Corps application. Installation of mine lanes and training must be able to occur not later than 10 weeks after contract award. No RFP is available for competitive bidding; however, interested parties may submit a statement of capability for satisfying this requirement, to include descriptive literature and pricing, within 15 days of this announcement to the contact person listed above. (See Note 22; 45 days, as referenced in subject note, is reduced to 15 days.)
