- Description
- The Marine Corps Systems Command is seeking information from any commercial source capable of providing an emergency repair kit for a six-inch lightweight collapsible Polyester Filament bulk petroleum hose used to transfer bulk petroleum at 150 PSI. The product must be usable in a military tactical environment. It must be capable of rendering the six-inch bulk petroleum hose fully operational within thirty minutes or less following application. It must be applicable with a minimal use of tooling. The use of such a repair kit does not need to constitute a permanent repair. However, the temporary repair must last a minimum of seventy-two hours under a working pressure of 150 psi., and burst pressure of 300 psi. Proposed products must be compatible with Polyester Filament B5, a family of industrial yarns and polyethylene terephthalate (CAS# 25038-59-9). Any proposed product must be capable of meeting the non-hazardous criteria of the OSHA Hazardous Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200). Any proposed product requiring the use of open flame or the use of heating devices that produce heat in excess of 400 degrees F will not be considered. Firms possessing the capabilities to accomplish this requirement are invited to submit a statement of capability/qualification, enclose product literature, past performance information, current GSA or other schedule information and contract numbers (if applicable) and price schedules/catalogs. Firms are encouraged to address the following: 1. Evidence of ability to meet performance requirements listed in the paragraph above. 2. Rough order of magnitude price estimate for the repair kits that meet listed requirements. 3. Rough estimate of schedule for production preparation, production, and delivery of 40 units. Proprietary information submitted in response to this synopsis will be protected when clearly identified as proprietary. Responses to this RFI must be received in writing no later than 24 February 2003. NO ELECTRONIC (E-MAIL) OR FACSIMILES SHALL BE ACCEPTED. This submission is for planning purposes only and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for items/services, or for the Government to pay for the information received.
