- Description
- NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for Design and Fabrication of High Temperature Seal Preloading Devices. This will be a research and developemnt effort for high temperature structural seals for future reusable launch vehicles including both propulsion system seals and control surface seals. The Basic portion of the effort will be the design and delivery of two (a preferred and an alternate) prototypes which perform at 2 lb. per linear inch. The Optional portion of the effort will be the design and delivery of 12 of the prototypes developed in the Basic effort and two additional prototypes which perform at 10 lb. per linear inch. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541710 and 1,000, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFO and model contract will be those in effect through FAC 2001-10. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about February 10, 2003 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about March 3, 2003. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
