- NA DESC: 6105-00-659-3036, Part Number: 8421570. The item to be procured is a motor, alternating. This item is used on the M31A1 target mechanism, has an overall height of 7.490 inches and an overall length of 15.100 inches. Enclosure feature must be Water t ight. The length of the shaft from the housing is 9.100 inches. It is single ended and the frequency in hertz is 60.0 input. The award resulting from this solicitation will be a five (5) year Requirements type contract in accordance with FAR 16.503. The maximum quantity for the five years is 5,000. FOB is Destination. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c) therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Go vernment is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failu re to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal non-responsive and result in the rejection of same. This procurement is a 100% total small business set-aside. This is a source controlled item and POTENTIAL SOURCES who have the capability to manufacture the alternating motor NSN: 6105-00-659-3036, Part Number 8421570 for use on the M31A1 Target Mechanisms NSN: 6920-00-657-7533, Part Number 8421679 can be qualifi ed by complying with the procedures outlined below. The following information and product sample are hereby requested: Qualification Procedures Motor, Alternating NSN 6105-00-659-3036 Part Number 8421570 1. Any party interested in qualifying a product for the Motor, Alternating, NSN 6105-00-659-3036, part number 8421570, must: a. Submit at least one product sample to the following address for testing: TACOM-Rock Island ATTN: AMSTA-LC-CTRR Building 104, 1st Floor Rock Island, IL 61299-7630 b. Include a written request for TACOM-Rock Island to perform qualification testing, acknowledging the possibility that the product sample may be damaged in testing and that the Government will not be held liable for such damage. c. Include a written certification that the product meets the requirements of Drawing 8421570, Sheet 2 of 3, Note 1 (a through i). 2. TACOM-Rock Island will install the sample motor into one or more M31A1 Target Holding Mechanisms for testing. The purpose of the test is to determine if the sample motor meets the operating requirements specified on Drawing 8421570, Sheet 2 of 3, Note 2 (a and b) without damage to the target holding mechanism, motor, or target silhouette. 3. Upon request, the product sample will be returned after completion of the testing. The Government will not be responsible for transportation charges to or from Rock Island, IL. 4. Parties with products that pass the requirements above are qualified to submit proposals under TACOM-Rock Island solicitations DAAE20-03-R-0036 for the motor. 5. Any party who successfully competes for a TACOM-Rock Island contract and passes first article testing will be added as an approved source on drawing 8421570. All requests and samples for qualification testing must be received by close of business on 28 February 2003.
