- Description
- The Air Armament Center, Joint Munitions Test and Evaluation Program Office (commonly known as CHICKEN LITTLE), Eglin AFB FL, is hosting the first annual Sensor Week 2004, in fiscal year 2004. This week will provide a unique cost-shared data collection opportunity for sensor developers, modelers, industry and academia. This synopsis is an invitation to Government, industry, and academia for participation in the initial planning meeting for Sensor Week 2004 to be held 6/7 March 03 at Eglin AFB FL. Sensor Week is an opportunity for developers to collect data on actual foreign threat systems in realistic environments, representing real world scenarios. This collection may include signature data collection, algorithm development, system performance assessment, simulation validation, etc. Chicken Little will be providing the planning, setup, execution, and teardown of the test, complete Ground Truth (TSPI, MET, Photos, etc.), range time, and threat systems operations. Based on customer response to this effort and their current test requirements, a combined scenario-driven test matrix will be developed for execution. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be interpreted as intent to award a contract. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this announcement or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. Participation in this effort is entirely voluntary and creates no obligation of any nature on either the Government or the participants. Since this is not a request for a formal contract award, there will be no Request for Proposal (RFP), nor will any binding selection criteria be prepared. Participants will be invited to sign a Statement of Capability (SOC) with Chicken Little. Participation under the SOC is not subject to the Contracts Dispute Act of 1978 and not subject to arbitration or dispute. The Point of Contact (POC) at Eglin AFB is Summer Leim, commercial 850-882-7639 or e-mail: leim@eglin.af.mil. Persons wishing to participate are required to contact the POC no later than 28 February 2003 for reservations and directions to the meeting.
