This program is administered by th e US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command through the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). The PCRP is releasing Program Announcements for nine different funding mechanisms in FY03. The name of each funding mechan ism, its Program Announcement release date, and submission deadline are as follows: Exploration-Hypothesis Development Award, Exploration-Resource Development Award, Health Disparity Research-Prostate Scholar Award, Health Disparity Training-Prostate Scho lar Award, Idea Development Award, New Investigator Award, and Postdoctoral Traineeship Award were all released on 27 January 2003 with a submission deadline of April 16, 2003, 5:00 pm Eastern Time. Innovation is critical to this award and will be the major evaluation criteria., 2. Exploration-Resource Development Awards are intended to support product-driven research aimed at develop ing critical resources needed to advance the field of prostate cancer research. These resources may include, but are not limited to, development of animal models, cell lines, and reagents., 3. Physician Research Training Awards are intended to prepare phy sicians for careers in prostate cancer research through a mentored training experience. The PCRP electronic Program Announcements have been completely revised for FY03. Detailed descriptions of each of these funding mechanisms, evaluation criteria, and su bmission requirements can be found in the FY03 PCRP Program Announcement corresponding to that funding mechanism. Each Program Announcement can be downloaded from the CDMRP web site (http://cdmrp.army.mil). All applicants will be required to submit one e lectronic version of their proposal as a PDF (portable document format) file. All documents may be downloaded from the CDMRP website.
