Description

The Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Region has a requirement for construction services, at Pineview Dam. Embankment and foundation modification work may be performed over a period of two (2) years with a winter shut-down period. Principal features of the work include the following: 1. Embankment Raise. Excavation of the downstream portion of the embankment crest from the spillway to the left abutment. Installation of a structural concrete wall along the downstream crest edge. Embankment associated with the crest raise. Miscellaneous work to be performed includes removal and replacement of the highway pavement and guardrails, and installation of toe drains for the wall. 2. Foundation Modification. Construction of the road detour, excavation to El. 4815.0 and installation of the dewatering wells may all be scheduled during the first year of construction. Construction, maintenance, and removal of temporary highway detour. Installation of river and creek diversion systems. Extension of the existing corrugated-metal pipe. Removal and replacement of the CMP pipe endwall. Installation of a temporary dewatering system including temporary observation wells. Installation of a temporary excavation support system. Excavation and replacement of the foundation downstream of the toe of the existing berm, and raising the existing berm by 10 feet, and other miscellaneous work. There will be a site tour scheduled for all interested parties (the date and time will be provided with the solicitation). The work will be performed under the North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 234900. The estimated price range job is more than $10 million. Bid, performance and payment bonds will be required. An electronic copy of the solicitation (without drawings) will be available approximately February 10, 2003 at website: www.fedbizopps.gov. Prospective vendors must be registered in CCR prior to the award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
