- The Naval Undersea Warfare Division Newport intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract on a Sole Source basis to E/M Corporation, 1 John Dewey Drive, New Britain, CT 06051 for services to have Everlube E-110 epoxy coating applied to Torpedo Mk 48 Mod 5 and 6 Exercise Fuel Tanks. The lot for services includes (39) Aft Fuel Tank Shells; (39) Wire Coil Covers; (39) Exercise Bulkheads; (39) Filter Housings; (78) Siphon Tubes and (273) Spacer Tubes. This coating is the sole qualified and approved coating used on exercise fuel tanks for the Mk 48 Mod 5/6 torpedoes. Once coated, components are to have new part numbers assigned and stenciled per the drawings provided as Government Furnished Equipment. The Government plans to issue a request for written quote to E/M Corporation using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The anticipated award date is 14 Feb 2003. This action is being processed on a Sole Source basis due to the fact that Everlube E-110 is the only coating approved and qualified for use on Torpedo Mk 48 exercise fuel tanks. Currently, Everlube E-110 powder epoxy coating is proprietary to E/M Corporation. All proposals from responsible sources will be considered. Telephone requests will not be honored. NAICS: 332812.
