Description

The purpose of the solicitation is to procure Technical Assistance to strengthen the regulation and supervision framework that supports the development of a fair, safe and competitive insurance market in India. Specifically TA and associated training will support (a) strengthening the institutional capacity of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) in the areas of solvency and market conduct supervision; (b) the development of an enabling policy, regulatory and institutional environment for the development of a robust health insurance system; (c) the development of key professions associated with the insurance sector such as actuary, underwriting and loss assessment to international standards; (d) fostering gradual shift to a collaborative supervision system; (e) promoting appropriate institutional framework for consumer protection and deepening of the insurance market and (f)the development of a comprehensive statistical data base on claims, mortality, morbidity and other related parameters to facilitate emergence of sound pricing of insurance products.
