- This is Amendment No.1 to solicitation number CON-03-0006. This amendment provides answers to questions received from prospective offerors. The questions are labeled followed by the BBG answer. The due date for receipt of proposals has been extended to 2/07/2003. No other aspects of this solicitation have been changed with this amendment. Q. (1) Is there a formal RFP or just the notice in the Commerce Business Daily? A. (1) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items. As stated in the announcement, this announcement is the only solicitation, written proposals are herein being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Q. (2) Is there a possibility of getting the bid extended? A. (2) The solicitation will be extended to 2/7/2003. Q (3) Are you looking at buying from the manufacturer only (we are an integrator)? A. (3) This is a specific niche market for satellite earth Station Monitoring and Control system. The successful contractor must be a supplier of the required items as a part of their regular business (i.e., regular dealer or manufacturer or product). Q. (4) Is there someone we can talk to about the M&C? Preferably the manufacturer. A. (4) You can contact Bryan Hopkins; VP Worldwide Sales at Almeric Networks, telephone number: (978) 557-5710. Q. (5) We are a Division of Worldcom? Will there be a problem concerning the Worldcom bankruptcy? A. (5) In accordance with FAR Part 9, the successful offeror must be a responsible contractor. Q. (6) Can you tell me where to find the FAR that is mentioned in the article? A. (6) As stated in the announcement, the FAR can be found on the Internet at http://www.arnet.gov/far. Q. (7) Is this a continuation of a project already in development? A. (7) This is an off the shelf project. Q. (8) Is the Xpress software in fact Quark Express Software? A. (8) No. Q. (9) Is the software for a PC or a MAX? A. (9) PC. Q. (10) Is there a Version number? A. (10) Yes, Xpress Version 1.5. Q. (11) Is there a targeted platform for the EMCL 25/25 and 250? A. (11) No, it is not platform depended. Q. (12) Please confirm the part numbers and descriptions. A. (12) We have checked the part numbers listed in the solicitation and they are correct.
