- Description
- ISSUE DATE: 2/18/03. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, and disposal necessary and incidental related work to paint the wood trim and other items on the main station building and the garage. The work includes scraping all loose spalling paint coatings, preparing the surfaces and applying the specified coatings on the wood trim of these buildings. The building fa?ade of both structures is brick. Other items to be painted include 2 porches, entrance doors, dormers with wood siding and trim, cupola located on the top of the 3 story main building, fire escape stairway, window lintels, and other similar items on the 2 buildings. Other work includes replacing any rotted wood trim or siding, remove 2 existing rusted/rotted fire escape doors and providing new fire escape doors, replacing rusting conduit brackets, and other minor items. The period of performance is 60 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Estimated cost of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000 dollars. NAICS code is 235210. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 2/19/03. Proposals are due on or about: 03/18/2002. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. Line of credit is $500,000.
