- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement for construction to add 6,400 square foot second floor lab and office space addition to a laboratory at the Leetown Science Center (LSC) in Kearneysville, WV. The request for proposals will use the deductive pricing format. The base item will be the price for the entire job. There will be three deductive alternates. Offerors shall provide separate prices for each of the alternates. Deductive Alternate No. 1 - New parking stalls and site lighting for the new parking spaces. Demolition of existing conditions to receive new pavement earthwork prep for receiving new asphalt pavement to match existing, new asphalt pavement, striping new stalls, site lighting and trenching, finished site lighting pole and bases. Deductive Alternate No. 2 - All piping, drops, sprinkler heads, as per drawings, isotope lab cabinets and countertops. Deductive Alternate No. 3 - Isotope lab equipment, Isotope lab finished plumbing fixtures such as, valves, faucets and sinks, Isotope lab hoods and hood cabinets as per drawings. For clarification, the following should be left in the Base Bid for the Isotope Lab and should not be included as part of the Deductive Alternate #3: All floor finishes and window finishes, all base material, gypsum walls and paint, installed doors, finished ceiling tile and grid, rough all plumbing lines to all necessary equipment locations as shown on the plans, cap all plumbing at each location. Including: air lines, gas-lines, waterlines and vents, Electrical lighting, finished lenses, outlets, switches and covers, mechanical systems to heat and cool the space with diffusers as needed for a finished isotope lab. The RFP will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov/ecprod/owa/ecmenu$.firstcount/ . The estimated release date for the RFP is February 24, 2003. The anticipated award date is May 27, 2003. The technical specifications and drawings will be mailed separately on CDROM. Prospective offerors must submit a General Services Administration Order No. PBS 3490.1 and other documentation identified in the PBS 3490.1 in order to receive the CDROM. The Government cannot be held responsible for any delay caused by non-receipt of the PBS 3490.1 or delays in the mail. Requests must clearly state the company name and mailing address, a point of contact and phone/fax/email information. A site visit is planned and the exact date will be announced with the RFP. The anticipated value of the construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The NAICS code is 233320. The size standard is $28.5 million. The proposed procurement is being issued as an UNRESTRICTED acquisition. The performance period will be 365 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. All responsible sources who have a valid Dun & Bradstreet Number may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. The government point of contact is David L.
