- This mod is issued to correct the model number. The Naval Aviation Depot at the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, NC has a requirement for 1 each Center Hole Grinder. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. A quotation is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number M00146-03-Q-N158 is hereby issued as a Request for Quotation. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-09 (b) and Defense Acquisition Circular 98-27. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Small Business and is under the North American Industry Classification System code 333298, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This requirement is for a firm fixed priced contract, BRAND NAME OR SIMILAR for a center hole grinder with standard accessories, MYL Model RP-150. ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS: a. The center hole grinder works according to the method of Linear grinding with stationary work piece and eccentric (planetary) rotating grinding spindle. The Planetary motion can be adjusted with the eccentric in the wheel head. The clearance between the eccentric spindle and the grinding wheel spindle can be very accurately adjusted between 0 and 20 mm. The grinding point has linear contact with the center hole (the same method as internal grinding). The work pieces are clamped in a self-centering steady rest with pneumatic control. They may use raw material, turned or ground. By means of a driven tailstock (tailstock can be vertically adjusted to the required height and then firmly clamped to the machine column), it shall be possible to grind centers concentric to already ground outer diameters or to external gear teeth. Two separate motors are used to drive the wheel spindle and the eccentric spindle. b. The unit shall meet or exceed the following minimum requirements. 1. Power: 230V. 2. Grinding Diameter Range: 2-90 mm. 3. Range of taper angles: 50 degrees - 100 degrees. The grinding wheel can be dressed to any taper between 50 degrees - 100 degrees. Two fixed positions for the wheel dresser at 60 degrees & 90 degrees facilitate the angle setting. 4. The wheel heads shall slide up and down guides with ball bearings to give maximum precision and rigidity. Fast travel is by hand wheel with final finishing travel by another hand wheel, which gives 0.01 mm precision. 5. Maximum grinding work length: standard 1200mm. 6. Chuck diameter range: 5-110mm. 7. Work head vertical travel range: 100 mm. 8. Initial grinding wheel diameter with 8 mm spindle: 32; 50 mm Initial grinding wheel diameter with 6mm spindle: 10; 20; 32 mm. 9. Eccentric drive motor rating: 0, 11 kW. 10. Eccentric drive motor speed: 2700 R.P.M. 11. Planetary rotation speed: 50 R.P.M. 12. Grinding wheel spindle drive motor rating: 0, 18/0.25kw. 13. Spindle drive motor speed: 1400/2700 R.P.M. 14. Grinding wheel spindle rotation speed: 9000/17500 R.P.M. 15. Overall dimensions of machine: Length-850 mm, Width-600 mm, Height?1900 mm. 16. Standard Accessories shall include: 2 hard metal angle holding plates, 1 hard metal front holding plate, grinding wheel dressing equipment, 2 clamps for 8 and 10 mm diameter (1 of each), 3 grinding wheels for spindle diameters 19mm, 35mm, & 45mm (1 of each), Transparent plastic shield, Servicing tools, Instruction book and Machine card. c. The unit shall be capable to offer: perfect roundness & accurate generatrix, surface roughness below 0.4 RA , centered axis holding, wide range of tapers, quick and accurate wheel dressing. d. The unit shall meet all OSHA requirements governing this type of equipment. e. The unit shall include one day training at NADEP, Cherry Point, NC. e. The unit shall be supplied with a complete set of instruction manuals, parts breakdown, maintenance troubleshooting. Note: If you are quoting a similar item please provide literature on the item with your quote. Along with your quote I will need your delivery date, terms of payment, and federal tax ID number. The Government will award a purchase order resulting from this Request for Quotation to the technically acceptable, responsive, responsible offeror based on price and delivery alone. The following clauses and provisions are incorporated and are to remain in full force in any resultant purchase order: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offers - Commercial Items (Oct 2000). FAR 52.212-3 Alternate I, Offer Representation and Certifications-Commercial Items (April 2002), a completed copy of this provision shall be submitted with the offer. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions Commercial Items (Feb 2002). FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items (May 2002), to include clauses (11) (12) (13) (14) (15) (16) (21) (24) and (26). DFARS 252.212-7001, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Applicable to Defense Acquisitions of Commercial Items (Nov 2001), applies with the following clauses applicable for paragraph (b); DFARS 252.206-7000, Domestic Source Restriction; DFARS 252.225-7001, Buy American Act and Balance of Payment Program; and DFARS 252.225-7012, Preference for Certain Domestic Commodities. The request for quote is to be priced FOB destination. Request for quote must be received no later than 4:oo PM, local time, March 12, 2003. You may Email or fax your quote to the above. Direct delivery of quote is only possible during weekdays, excluding federal holidays, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
