- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard has a requirement to provide engineering services and design agent support for the AN/SPS-73 Surface Search Radar (SSR). Services shall include: Analysis and design to resolve parts obsolescence, system integration, installation, reliability, maintainability and availability issues. Provide technical and design advice by performing studies on equipment upgrades, engineering changes, and alterations regarding hardware and software applications and use for other ship classes and other facilities. Review and support of platform documentation to include preliminary and final Engineering Change Proposals while maintaining a Configuration Control Program; data collection, investigation, evaluation, and analysis of system performance; providing engineering software builds and/or implementing changes; and providing engineering support of U.S. Coast Guard testing. The period of performance of the resulting contract will be a one-year base period plus four one-year options. This contractual action is expected to be executed using Other Than Full and Open Competition, as defined by FAR 6.302-1, if the Coast Guard determines that only one source is capable of satisfying the requirements. The sole source for this procurement is Raytheon Co., Integrated Defense Systems, 1847 West Main Rd., Portsmouth, R.I. 02871-1087. Raytheon is the designer, developer and currently the sole producer of AN/SPS-73 Surface Search Radar systems. Proprietary data is not available for this procurement and cannot be provided by the government. All responsible sources may respond to this synopsis, in writing, and shall be considered by the Coast Guard. Information provided by responsible sources shall not constitute a proposal. The Government does not intend to pay for the information received.
