Description: 17. The Strategic Systems Programs intends to contract with Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics and Surveillance Systems (LMNE&SS), a division of Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC), Mitchel Field, NY for TRIDENT II (D5 and BACKFIT) Strategic Weapon Systems Navigation Subsystem Research and Development effort. As the design agent, LMNE&SS is the only source with the requisite design background, system knowledge and operational experience relative to the TRIDENT Navigation Subsystems capable of providing the required supplies and services within existing cost and schedule constraints.
