- Description
- NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for renewal of annual maintenance for Unipass software. This software is used for analysis of uncertainties in several NASA programs such as MORPHING, Ultra-lightweight Inflatable Structures, Crashworthiness, and a new program initiative on risk based design methodologies. This purchase will include a one year with (2) one additional option year of performance. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Prediction Probe, Inc., who is the only responsible source and no other supplies and services will satisfy Agency requirements. This procurement is for continuation of currect software maintenance. It would take substantial duplication of time and money for another company to generate the supplies and services and these costs are not expected to be recovered through competition. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on February 18, 2003. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
