Description
NA Solicitation Notice: The Utah National Guard intends to award a contract for the demolition of Buildings 1624 and 1709, located at the Utah Air National Guard Base, Salt Lake City, Utah. The project consists of demolishing two WWII wooden buildings. Bui lding 1624 is approximately 12,328 square feet, with a volume of approximately 280,000 cubic feet. It is a wooden frame building with trusses spanning the high bay. The roof consists of wooden plank and steel roofing panels. The walls consist of wooden studs, wooden planks, non-friable asbestos siding, insulation board and steel siding. The floors consist of wooden plank flooring over wooden joists. The building is supported off the ground on concrete piers. The mechanical room located on the northwes t corner of the building has a concrete floor, approximately 385 square feet. There is another concrete foundation on the south end of the building, which is approximately 50 feet in length and 12 inches high. Contractor is to remove power lines from the main switch to the transformer and from the transformer to the building. Contractor shall remove and dispose of transformer. Building 1709 is approximately 7,348 square feet with a volume of approximately 120,000 cubic feet. It is a wooden frame buildi ng with wooden trusses. The roof consists of wooden planks and steel roofing panels. The walls consist of wooden studs, wooden planks, non-friable asbestos siding, insulation board and steel siding. The floor is concrete and is approximately six inches thick. The building sits on a concrete foundation, which is 64 inches above ground and is 260 lineal feet in length and approximately eight inches thick. Inside the foundation is filled with approximately 20,000 cubic feet of earth. Contractor will be r equired to remove asbestos by hand and dispose of the siding in accordance with the local and Federal EPA regulations. All demolished materials will become the property of the Contractor to disposed of according to Federal and State regulations. Estimate d magnitude is between $100,000 and $250,000. This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competition Demonstration Program and is open to large and small business participation. The applicable NAICS Code is 235940. Small Business size standard is $12 million. Performance period is 60 calendar days. Bid packages will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis to qualified prime contractors only until supply is exhausted. All requests shall be in writing and may be faxed to 801-245-2152. No te lephone calls will be accepted. Bid packages are tentatively scheduled for distribution on March 3, 2003, with bid opening date scheduled for April 9, 2003. Drawings and specifications are ONLY available in hard copy.
