Description
NA Potential sources are sought to determine if adequate competition will be received for a Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) for Military Range Design-Build Construction and Build to Specification Construction in Hawaii. A MATOC is an indefinite de livery indefinite quantity contract that is awarded to multiple contractors. The North American Industry Classification Code is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. This MATOC will require contractors to have military range design and construction experience and will have a $200,000,000.00 cumulative capacity for a 5-year term. The 5-year term consists of a base period of 3 years and one 2-year option period. It is critical that firms have the capability to operate simultaneously in m ore than one geographical area, primarily the Island of Oahu, and the Island of Hawaii. It is also critical that firms have range expertise or have the ability to hire range expertise, partner with firms with range expertise or form joint ventures with fir ms with range expertise. It is anticipated that two awards will be made to 8(a) firms serviced by the Small Business Administration Hawaii District Office and three awards will be made to other small or large businesses. It is also anticipated that abou t 10% of the cumulative capacity of the contract could be set-aside for the selected 8(a) firms. Solicitation to be issued on/about June 1, 2003. Selection will be based on evaluation factors and price. Firms interested in this project should submit a letter of interest to U.S. Army Engineer District, Honolulu, Building 230, ATTN: CEPOH-CT-C, Jody Muraoka, Fort Shafter, Hawaii 96858-5440 no later than February 24, 2003. Please indicate (a) your size status (eg. 8(a), Small Business, Large Business, etc.), (b) whether you have military range design and construction experience or whether you have the ability to obtain the necessary range expertise, and (c) your bonding capacity in your letter. This is not a request for proposal. A separate synopsis w ill be published providing the cost of the solicitation and procedures on obtaining the solicitation.
