Description
NA THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY REQUESTING INFORMATION IN SUPPORT OF THE FOLLOWING POTENTIAL REQUIREMENT: The USMC is interested in acquiring a replacement for its fleet of 96 Emerson M901A1 turrets. This replacement turret must be able to effectively acquire an d destroy threat main battle tanks while maneuvering, or from a short halt at ranges equal to or in excess of threat weapon systems, to allow the Light Armored Reconnaissance unit to perform its mission when faced with enemy armor formations. The estimate d quantity is 96 units, with a target contract award in 1st Qtr 2005. No solicitation document exists at this time, and calls requesting a solicitation will not be answered. In support of this potential requirement, the Program Manager, Light Armored V ehicles (PM-LAV), TACOM, is conducting market research to determine what alternatives might be available using existing technology/hardware. This announcement is to provide potential offerors an opportunity to provide information relating to weapon system s they believe could fulfill anticipated USMC requirements. The initial phase of this market research consists of a Market Investigation Questionnaire.
