- Description
- This acquisition is for design, fabrication, cutting, polishing, inspection and delivery of polycarbonate glovebox window panels to be used for the glovebox confinement boundary window at the Mixed Oxide (MOX) Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF). The windows will provide visual access and permit external illumination of glovebox interior spaces. The polycarbonate window panel manufacturer shall design, fabricate, cut, polish, inspect and deliver panels in accordance with the requirements delineated in this specification and comply with all applicable codes, standards and regulations. The polycarbonate window panel material shall meet the following requirements in accordance with Design Requirements Document DCS01-ZMJ-DS-SPE-M-19101. 1. All polycarbonate window panels shall be 10mm nominal and 9.5mm (3/8?) minimum thickness. Greater thickness may be used if specified on procurement design drawings or if required to meet structural integrity requirements per the Process Equipment Fabricators? design calculations. 2.The maximum allowable window size shall be 1000mm by 1500mm. 3.Polycarbonate window panels shall be made of LEXAN MR-10, as manufactured by General Electric Corporation, or approved equal. 4.Windows shall be water clear window quality in conformance with Type I of Appendix X1 of ASTM C1349 with a minimum light transmission of 78% for a minimum thickness of 9.5mm. Optical and physical material properties shall remain essentially unaffected at a radiation exposure of 1x105 Rad Vendors are requested to visit the DCS MOX website to download the required forms. Potential Suppliers will need to download and send to DCS the following forms: Proprietary Agreement, Appendix I and Appendix II. The DCS website is www.dcsmox.com.
