- This acquisition is for the design, fabrication, inspection and delivery of the Glovebox Penetrations/Connectors for the Mixed Oxide (MOX) Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF). The Glovebox Penetrations/Connectors Supplier/Subcontractor shall design, fabricate, inspect and deliver Glovebox Connectors in accordance with the requirements delineated in this specification and comply with all applicable codes, standards and regulations. Supplier/Subcontractor shall provide design, fabrication, and delivery of Glovebox Penetrations/Connectors for the MFFF in compliance with all applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations as well as all other requirements of the DCS specification. These items shall be provided in support of the fabrication, delivery, and start-up schedule of the MFFF project. The Glovebox Penetrations/Connectors will be used for the cables that are to penetrate the glovebox. These connectors will be used to connect the electrical and instrumentation/control devices inside the glovebox to the electrical and instrumentation/control cables outside of the glovebox. The connectors are to be a stainless steel Pushthru type connector to minimize personnel exposure or spread of radioactive material during connector replacement similar to the PAVE Technologies Pushthru PAVE-Mate I Glovebox connectors. The connectors will become part of the pressure boundary for the glovebox. The connectors are to maintain this pressure boundary before, during, and after a seismic event. The connectors will be used for all coaxial, thermocouple, fiber optic, hybrid Profibus fiber optic, power, control, and instrumentation cables associated with the glovebox. The Supplier/Subcontractor shall control the quality of items and services to meet specification, applicable codes, standards and other procurement requirements. The Supplier/Subcontractor shall propose on an individual quantity of 100 of each type of connector identified. The Supplier/Subcontractor shall demonstrate his capacity to deliver approximately half of the connectors in calendar year 2004 and the remaining half of the connectors in calendar year 2005. Initial deliveries are anticipated to begin in January 2004 with final deliveries anticipated in December 2005. Vendors are requested to visit the DCS MOX website to download the required forms.
