Description
NA Overview: The PA Army Natl. Guard has a requirement at Fort Indiantown Gap to clear forestland in tactical vehicle maneuver area B (TVMA-B). The area of the proposed site is 31.32 acres. Scope of Work: This project shall provide services to accomplish the following items of work: a. Clearing shall be accomplished using brush cutter type of equipment. i.e. Fecon Bull Hog mounted on a Franklin Tree Farmer, Gyro-Trac, Seppi forst V250 mounted on a Barko 885 Feller Buncher or like equipment. Tracked or rubber tire mounted equipment may be used. b. Track or wheel ground pressure shall not exceed 6 psi. c. Material to be cleared within the 31.32 acres includes trees up to 12? in diameter, undergrowth, brush, woody debris and saplings. Trees larger than 12? in diameter may remain for tactical concealment. d. Stumps shall be left in place and cut or chipped to ground level or below. e. Wood chips and debris remaining from the chipping/shredding operation shall be left on the ground to assist in controlling soil erosion and surface water runoff. Chip or debris piles left by the operation shall be leveled. f. Equipment shall be operated in a manner to minimize rutting by tracks or tires. Ruts that channel surface water down slope shall be leveled. g. Riparian buffer zones shall be maintained 100? on each side of stream banks and 50? on each side of intermittent streams. No activity shall occur in buffer zones. h. All work to be performed under this contract shall be completed by 15 May 2003. i. Refer questions to Mike Ney at (717) 861-9672. This is a combined synopisis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
