- Description
- The National Marine Fisheries Service, Hollings Marine Laboratory, U. S. Department of Commerce intends to procure an APT Triple Quadrapole Mass Spectrometer through the manufacturer Applied Biosystems. This is a replacement for instrument of the same manufacturer of origin and an integral part of the analytical chemistry operations at the National Ocean Service. The instrument provides the highest level of sensitivity required by the Marine Biotoxins Program for reliable detection and measurement of materials at sub-picogram levels, and for standardization of experimental protocols. This replacement model is immediately compatible with existing liquid chromatograph front end (i.e. sample injection) systems, operating software, and data collection ana analysis systems. Substitution of another mass spectrometer from another manufacturer would halt ongoing work in this critical field of research and seriously compromise the entire biotoxins program as a direct consequence of the disruption. The Government will accept similar products from another vendor, however, the products must be equivalent in form and function. The following items must be supplied with this procurement: API 4000 Lc/MS/MS System - Enhanced high performance triple quadrupole mass spectrometer with a mass range of m/z 5 to 3000. Turbo V Source, TurbolonSpray Probe, APCI Probe, Analyst Software, Windows NT software for control, acquisition and data processing. 21" Ultra Scan Color Monitor, National Instruments GPIB Communications Kit, DIGI Serial Port Expansion Card, Data Acquisition Workstation GS400 Optiplex, 1.4 GHz Pentium IV, 256/40. Line Transformers - required in areas where line voltage is out of specification. Requited for installation. Custom Table API 3XX/3000/4000 - Supports an API 365, mechanical pumps, line transformers, LC and supplies on a single table. Custon API Extension cart API 150/2000 - Custom API extension (cart) for API 165 LC/MS System (WC016436). Provides additional space for LC pump and/or autosampler. Magnetic latches secure cart to table. Mort than one cart may be attached in series to table. Approximate dimensions (LxDxH): 66 cm (26") x 68 cm (27") x 82 cm (33"). This item will be a firm-fixed price contract. Solicitation Number C1330-02-RP-0018MLW will be issued on or about July 26, 2002. NAICS code 334519 applies. All responsible sources may submit an offer and information about their capabilities to provide these products within 15 calendar days after this notice, which will be considered by the agency. Firms interested in receiving a copy of the solicitation shall submit a request in writing to the attention of Mamie L. Wandick at the address listed above. Facsimile requests for the solicitation will be accepted at (816) 426-7530. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (11-JUL-2002). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 22-FEB-2003. PLEASE CONTACT fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
