Description
Design, Fabrication & Assembly Services for Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) Process Units Duke Cogema Stone & Webster, LLC (DCS) is seeking companies with experience in design and/or fabrication of gloveboxes, including the integration of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation components to form an assembly that performs a set of process functions. The integrated assembly is referred to as a Process Unit. The Process Units to be acquired will support the construction of a Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) to be built at the Department of Energy (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS). For the MFFF, a Process Unit is a single glovebox or series of connected gloveboxes along with the associated process equipment (conveyors, rotating doors, drives, elevators, sensors, other single function machines, etc.) contained within the glovebox confinement boundary and the support equipment (gearboxes, motors, MCCs, PLCs, etc.) located external to the glovebox confinement boundary. DCS is in the stage of the project where acquisition planning activities must begin. A major procurement initiative for the MFFF is the acquisition of the Process Units. Approximately 30 Process Units could be acquired under a design/build contractual arrangement, and between 25 and 60 Process Units could be acquired under a build-to-print contractual arrangement. The projected total value of all work is in the range of $150 to $300 million dollars. DCS seeks expressions of interest from companies or teams. Interested companies should contact Mr. Andy Grodzicki at ajgrodzicki@duke-energy.com to obtain the Sources Sought Expanded Description Statement document related to this notice. Companies shall acknowledge their interest by March 24, 2003 in a manner and form described in the Sources Sought Expanded Description Statement document. To ensure the best understanding of the scope, complexity and magnitude of the planned procurements for Process Units, DCS plans to conduct a forum for interested companies in late April. Companies expressing interest will be provided information on the final arrangements for the forum by April 1st. Following the forum, interested companies shall formally submit a pre-qualification package (content defined in the Sources Sought Expanded Description Statement) affirming interest and seeking qualification to propose on opportunities related to Process Units. The pre-qualification process related to this notice addresses the acquisition of Process Units only. Companies also interested in qualifying for opportunities to participate in other procurements for equipment, fabrication or subcontracted services should go to the DCS website at www.dcsmox.com and submit the appropriate standard pre-qualification forms found under the Procurement tab.
