Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is attempting to identify responsible vendors that are capable of providing a software-monitoring product that would, on an ongoing basis, dynamically assist with the cleanup of system security files and/or resources. SSA utilizes CA-Top Secret software, provided by Computer Associates International Inc., to protect system resources. The required software-monitoring product will be installed on a minimum of four IBM z/900 2064 mainframe systems at the National Computer Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The minimal requirements are: Provides automated user security access monitoring on IBM OS390 systems; Compliancy with Section 508; Includes product maintenance; Runs on all OS390 Central Processing Units / Logical Partitions (LPARS) concurrently; Can be shared across systems; Identifies and reports current, obsolete and unused resources, users and groups, utilizing predetermined selection criterion identified by security support staff; Provides the capability for input customization while retaining all history data; Does not produce any measurable overhead or have a negative impact on mainframe performance; Interfaces with CA-Top Secret on the mainframe - Compares Top Secret definitions to actual access used and Identifies unused or obsolete rules; Generates Top Secret command file to clean up obsolete and unused resources, users and groups; Generates Top Secret command file to restore clean up of obsolete and unused resources, users and groups; Maintains history dataset of all user/resource/group access; Provides the capability for easy viewing of history dataset using Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF) Interface; Provides a report generator to list resources selected by predetermined selection criterion; and Selects based on a variable number of days as defined by security support staff on referenced and/or not referenced resources. After the information is evaluated and determined to have meet the minimum requirements, the vendor will provide a copy of their product for a free 90 day trail Vendors responding should indicate whether their product is available on the GSA schedule. Include pricing data with the required information. This is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the information received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA's assessment of capable sources. Responses to this notice should be submitted within 15 days of this publication and should refer to SOFTWARE-MONITORING PRODUCT - JQ0303. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged.
