Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) hereby gives notice of its intent to issue a sole source contract under commercial item acquisition procedures to Kalos Incorporated for the continuing operations of the agency?s Correctional Institution Pharmacy System (CIPS), to include, but not necessarily limited to, software maintenance, software site licenses, and software upgrades. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Kalos Inc., 3518-B SE 21st , Topeka, KS 66607. The software maintenance services are to include all new software releases, system updates, program temporary fixes, subscription to the Medispan Drug Interaction database, and toll free hotline support. Software upgrade services include Government requested upgrades to the CIPS software system. Kalos is the developer and has proprietary rights to the Correctional Institution Pharmacy System. The BOP will be awarding the contract in accordance with the provisions of FAR 12 and 13.5. The resulting contract will contain a base period as well as provisions for extensions by exercise of four optional periods to acquire the same software maintenance, software site licenses, and upgrade services necessary to assure continued operation at the BOP. The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to negotiate with Kalos Incorporated on a sole source basis. However, interested parties capable of providing the required services may submit a notice of interest which will be considered by the agency in its final determination. All contractor responses shall be submitted to the address listed no later than March 14, 2003 at 9:00 am local time (Washington, DC). All responses shall be clearly marked with RFP JITA-044-2003. All vendors are hereby notified that if your response is not received by the date/time and location specified in this notice, it will not be considered.
