- NA The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile command (AMCOM) has a requirement to acquire additional support for the independent integration analysis of the PATRIOT missile system under Contract DAAH01-97-C-0324. The purpose of this additional effort is to provide uninterrupted contractor support to the Lower Tier Project Office (formerly PATRIOT Project Office) until award of a competitive follow-on procurement to DAAH01-97-C-0324 can be accomplished. These services shall be procured on an ?other than full and ope n competition? basis from the incumbent contractor, CAS, Inc. Based on Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii), CAS, Inc. has been determined the only responsible source that can provide these services within an acceptable timeframe to pr event a break in service. A break in existing service would impact the readiness of the deployed systems and the military units they are assigned to; adversely impact the ability of deployed troops to defend themselves and U.S. allies; and could result in loss of life and loss of valuable assets to which no value can be assigned. It is estimated that an additional 336,322 hours will be required for a period of approximately six months. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be consider ed by the agency.
