- Description
- Furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to, unless otherwise noted, to accomplish the specified cleaning, tiling and grouting of the swimming pool located in building 99 at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown, Virginia. This operation must be carried out in conformance with the specifications, applicable drawings, clauses, terms, and conditions of the contract, and completed with 30 calendar days after delivery to contractor, unless otherwise noted. The work includes; (1) Contractor shall first clean all tile in the pool with Trisodium Phosphate (T.S.P.) and rinse using pressure wash. The pool will then be acid-washed using 1 part acid to 3 parts water and rinsed using pressure wash; (2) Contractor shall furnish new polymer modified sanded grout. The grout shall be quick setting grout, which will allow for full water immersion within five (5) days after installation. The grout shall be equal to Mapei KER 700 series Ultra/Color polymer modified hydraulic tile grout. The contractor shall take precautions to protect the existing expansion joint; (3) Contractor shall use only the designated space on the pool deck as a storage area. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to provide adequate protection in areas where the work items of these specifications is to be accomplished. The contractor is responsible for the cleanup of dirt and debris, incidental to the contract work on a daily basis. The contractor is responsible for that all of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required is provided to their employees. The contractor shall submit the following items for approval prior to starting work: (Submittal information shall include manufacture_s literature, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and/or a sample) (1) New tile _ manufacture_s literature and sample; (2) Mortar _ manufacture_s literature and MSDS; (3) Grout - manufacture_s literature and MSDS and color chart; (4) Trisodium Phosphate (T.S.P.) - manufacture_s literature and MSDS; (5) Acid - manufacture_s literature and MSDS. The contractor shall bid the project in two parts: (1) Floor and walls of the pool (white colored tile) approximately 5000 SF, and (2) Gutter system (brown colored tile) approximately 1000 SF. The estimated cost of this procurement is less than $100,000.00 and is automatically reserved for small business concerns. The applicable NAICS code is 561790. Small Business size standard is $5.0 million. Anticipated solicitation issue date is 12 December 2000, with due date for receipt of quotes on 27 December 2000.
