Description

The Mine Safey and Health Administration (MSHA) intends to award a sole source contract to SKC South, 863 Valley View Road, Eighty Four, Pennsylvania, 15330 to put N/NM diesel particulate rule(57.5061)in place. This requirement is to assure the mining industry that all DPM sampling would be conducted to minimize potential sample interferences from carbononaceous mineral dust. This method requires a quartz fiber filter for sample collection. Currently, the only commercially available submicron impactor is the SKC unit. It was specifically designed for use by the mining industry. It is compatible with the existing sampling equipment and contains the required quartz fiber filter. The unique design is not developed by any other company. No telephone inguiries will be accepted.
