Description

Repair of three, 3-leaf guillotine type doors in building 137, Robins AFB. Each leaf is approximately 7'X55'. Repairs will consist of the replacement of rope sheaves and bearings on the drive shaft, changing the single chain drive to a double chain drive and repairs to the operator and adjustments to the counter-balancing system. Some of the parts needed to complete the repairs, will have to be locally manufactured. Repairs will also require the replacement of approximately 200' of cable and new weather-stripping on each set of doors. The motorized door operator will need to be repaired; the gearbox and brakes are worn and damaged and will need to be repaired or rebuilt. Other repairs, undetectable now, may be required after work has begun. Overall, the doors need to be repaired into a fully operational condition. Period of performance is estimated at 30-45 days, depending on availability of the hangar bay.
